The SMU Mustangs will look to put together their first winning streak of the year against a Tulane Green Wave squad looking simply for a win on Saturday in the Superdome.
SMU (2-3, 1-0 C-USA) comes in as a heavy favorite against the Green Wave, who fall in the 100-place range nationally in passing, rushing, points scored and points allowed.
Tulane (0-5, 0-1 C-USA) opened the season with a 24-12 loss to Rutgers but hasn't had a game with a margin of defeat less than 28 points since. That loss came last week against Louisiana-Lafayette, which rolled up 444 yards on the Green Wave.
Meanwhile, the Mustangs would like to build on last week's 17-0 victory against the UTEP Miners. Next to a defense that picked off three passes, the offense that is currently nationally ranked 99th in scoring saw quarterback Garrett Gilbert throw for 234 yards while throwing one touchdown and an interception.
