Texas did nothing to assist Texas A&M with their recent struggles sending the Aggies to its third straight loss 61-51. With the win, Texas improves to 2-1 in conference play and has won three of its last four games.

The Longhorns host their arch-rivals one more time in Austin in a game with huge March implications for both teams.

With Texas A&M headed to the SEC after the season, Wednesday night's game in Austin may be the last time the Aggies play in the Erwin Center for awhile.

However, with both teams slightly under-performing pre-season expectations, the game is just as significant for how it affects this season.

Without a signature non-conference victory, Texas needs to take care of business at home against other middle-of-the-pack Big 12 teams like Texas A&M, especially before they begin a tough two-game road trip to No. 9 Missouri and No. 18 Kansas State next week.

Texas A&M, meanwhile, after beginning the season ranked in the top 25, has been on a month-long slump since being blown out by 84-64 by No. 13 Florida, including home losses to Rice and Iowa State.

The Aggies front-line of 6'10 Keith Davis, 6'8 David Loubeau and 6'7 Khris Middleton will be the biggest challenge for an undersized Longhorns team.

Texas will probably need big games from their star back-court of junior J'Covan Brown and freshman Myck Kabongo to make up for Texas A&M's edge in interior scoring.

The Longhorns are favored by -10 points with an over/under of 123.5.

The 8:00 PM game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
