Putting these two players on the cover makes it an all-Big 12 cover and it all comes from EA Sports' Heisman Trophy angle on the cover.

It's interesting because you don't necessarily have a reason to ever mention Griffin and Sanders in the same sentence, here one is right here. So since the two are in the image together, we can't help but pose the question ... What if RGIII and Barry Sanders played in the same backfield? How would opposing defensive coordinators prepare for such a nightmare, or would the competitive disadvantage in and of itself be worthy of an NCAA violation of sorts? It's definitely something I'd like to see.

There are two former Baylor Bears that will likely be first-round picks in the upcoming 2012 NFL draft. One was Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Robert Griffin III, who is considered to be this draft class' second-best quarterback after Stanford's Andrew Luck. He will be taken off the board with the second overall pick by the Washington Redskins, who traded away the farm to have a shot at a new franchise signal caller.

SB Nation recently created a string of videos on YouTube profiling some of the more prolific draft prospects. Here's their thoughts on RG3.

The other first-round prospect is wide receiver Kendall Wright, who many believe is the third-best wide receiver prospect in the draft class after Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon and Notre Dame's Michael Floyd. Many believe that Wright won't make it past the Houston Texans, who need a wide receiver to play opposite of Andre Johnson.

And here is Wright's video:

In Pro Football Talk's latest mock draft, put together by Evan Silva, the Indianapolis Colts do something a little surprising with their first-overall pick. For months it has been assumed that the Colts would take Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with the No. 1 pick, especially since they have officially released Peyton Manning. Silva is predicting, though, that the Colts may shake things up a little by taking Baylor Bears Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III with the first overall pick.

1. Colts: Robert Griffin III, quarterback, Baylor.

In an upset, the Colts opt for the most gifted quarterback in the draft.

RG3 had an incredible season in 2011 and impressed a lot of scouts and coaches at the combine in interviews. The Washington Redskins traded about about a billion picks to move up from No. 6 to No. 2 to select him. If the Colts decide to go for RG3 instead of Luck, I'm sure the Redskins wouldn't complain too much.

The Baylor Bears 2011 college football season arguably was the greatest season in the history of the program. While the leader of the renaissance, Robert Griffin III, is slated to be a top-10 pick in the upcoming 2012 NFL Draft, his favorite target could be off the board in the first round as well.

In SB Nation's first post Super Bowl mock draft, Ryan Van Biber has the Chicago Bears taking the former Baylor Bears wide receiver Kendall Wright with the No. 19 pick:

19. Chicago Bears, Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor

Chicago could use help along the offensive line, on the inside and out. They can probably find a way to get by and save their first-round pick for a playmaker. What Wright lacks in size, he makes up for with versatility, good hands and blazing speed. He can be a deep threat or do damage with yards after the catch working out of the slot.

We've seen mock drafts where the Cleveland Browns select Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III before, but in Sports Illustrated's most recent mock draft, Don Banks changes things up a little. Banks proposes that the Browns will use their extra first-round pick acquired from the Atlanta Falcons to trade to the St. Louis Rams to move up from No. 4 to No. 2 and take RGIII with the second overall pick.

The Browns have the need and the extra first-round pick to move up and land RG III, and for that they can thank Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff, who reeled in Julio Jones with Cleveland's 2011 first-round slot. Washington and Miami figure to be in the same market for the Heisman winner, but if the Rams deal with the AFC-based Browns they wouldn't have to face Griffin as often.

I personally don't see the need for the Browns to trade away a first-round pick to move ahead of the Minnesota Vikings, especially considering the Vikings just selected Christian Ponder in last year's draft, but crazier things have happened.

As the Super Bowl and the offseason near, the rumors about NFL teams looking to trade up or trade down in the draft to acquire certain players are going to start coming out more and more often. One such rumor has already been circulating. According to Rich Tandler of CSNWashington.com, the Redskins may be looking to trade up to acquire Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Tandler draws this conclusion from a comment that NFL Network's Jason La Confora made about the Redskins unlikely to sign Peyton Manning if he were to become available.

In an article about possible destinations for Colts QB Peyton Manning, Jason LaCanfora of the NFL said that the Redskins were unlikely to sign Manning should the Colts release him. One of the reasons LaCanfora gave was that, "execs I talk to expect Washington to make a move for St. Louis' No. 2 overall slot in the draft, and select whichever quarterback doesn't go first overall (at this point, it looks like Griffin)."

Of course the draft doesn't take place until April (91 days from now) and this could turn out to be absolutely nothing, but then again, it could be something worth keeping an eye on.

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay was interviewed by ESPN's Hannah Storm, and reiterated his desire to take a franchise quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, but mentioned Heisman trophy winner Robert Griffin III of Baylor in the same breath as assumed top pick Andrew Luck of Stanford.

It's not news that Irsay wants to hold the top pick regardless of the health of Peyton Manning, but Luck has been considered a lock for the top spot. Irsay told ESPN that this year's Draft could resemble the same 1-2 quarterback sequence as the last time the Colts found a franchise QB (quote transcription courtesy of PFT):

"With Griffin and Luck and the way it’s shaping up at the top of the draft — could very likely go one and two like with Peyton and Ryan Leaf," Irsay said. "It’s most likely one of those quarterbacks that you really feel is the best player in the draft, and where we’re at moving forward you can’t pass that up. I don’t think anyone would expect that."
