Oklahoma State made a statement on Saturday, further proving that they belong in all national title discussion. The Cowboys obliterated Texas Tech, winning 66-6 in Lubbock, dropping Texas Tech's record down to 5-5, and 2-5 in conference.

The Cowboys scored 49 points before the Red Raiders even managed to get on the board. Texas Tech's first touchdown didn't come until the third quarter, when Cornelius Douglas returned a fumble 37 yards for a touchdown. Texas Tech, though, failed the two point conversion, not that it was of any consequence.

Brandon Weeden was excellent, completing 31 of 37 passes for 423 yards and five touchdowns. Justin Blackmon was the recipient of two of those touchdown passes, as he caught six balls on the day for 103 yards. Josh Stewart also caught a pair of touchdowns for the Cowboys, and added 93 receiving yards of his own.

Oklahoma State also dominated on the ground as well, racking up 183 yards as a team rushing. Herschel Sims led the Cowboys with 109 yards on the ground on only 13 carries while Joseph Randle carried the ball 18 times for 73 yards, scoring three touchdowns.

Texas Tech's offense, meanwhile, could only muster 270 total yards, 169 through the air and 101 on the ground.

Oklahoma State will head to Iowa State to take on the Cyclones next week while the Red Raiders head to Missouri to take on the Tigers.

Three passing touchdowns by Brandon Weeden, three rushing touchdowns by Joseph Randle and a special teams touchdown to boot? All in the first half? That equals a 49-0 annihilation by the Oklahoma State Cowboys as the Texas Tech Red Raiders try to regroup after an awful first half.

Should Brandon Weeded begin receiving some Heisman votes? The quarterback is 23-28 passing the ball for 282 yards and the three scores. Touchdown catches by the 2010 Biletnikoff Award winner Justin Blackmon, Josh Stewart and Isaiah Anderson have left the Red Raiders secondary in disarray. Joseph Randle has been potent when touching the ball, as his three touchdowns have come on just 13 carries and 45 yards.

The Red Raiders have had little luck offensively as well, as two fumbles (one on special teams) and a Seth Doege interception have given the ball right back to the Cowboys offense.

Texas Tech was looking for another marquee win to get their program bowl-eligible, but now Tommy Tuberville has bigger task in front of him. Get your team to pick their heads up and go back out there and fight for another 30 minutes of action.

The No. 2 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys will receive the ball in the second half, and with the win will improve to 10-0.

Things are already getting out of hand in Lubbock, as the Oklahoma State Cowboys have put up five touchdowns in the first 16 minutes of action as they lead the Red Raiders 35-0.

Oklahoma State's lethal combination of Brandon Weeden to Justin Blackmon connected early, as the 2010 Biletnikoff Award winner scored from two yards out to give the Cowboys a quick 7-0 lead. Weeden also connected with Josh Stewart and Isaiah Anderson in the quarter for a total of three touchdown passes on 16-18 passing and 188 yards.

Joseph Randle also scored on a two-yard run, as the rushing attack didn't want to be left out in such a high scoring first quarter.

Texas Tech has been unable to sustain drives, and has had no answer for the Cowboys' gunslinging offense. To make matters worse, to start the second quarter a fumbled (and bumbled) kickoff return resulted in a scoop and score to put Oklahoma State up by five touchdowns.

Makes you wonder how this Red Raiders team gave the Oklahoma Sooners a 41-38 lost last month...its the reason why you play the games.

After two consecutive blowout losses, Texas Tech isn't being given much of a chance against the undefeated Cowboys.

It's been a long two weeks for the Texas Tech since their shocking upset of Oklahoma, with the Red Raiders losing by a combined score of 93-27 to Iowa State and Texas.

So it's not a huge surprise that 5-4 Texas Tech is a +19.5 home underdog against the undefeated No. 2 Oklahoma State Cowboys.

While coach Tommy Tuberville was hailed as a defensive mastermind when he came to Lubbock, his defense has collapsed in the last two weeks. Both the Longhorns and Cyclones feature somewhat one-dimensional run-heavy attacks to protect their underclassmen QB's, yet they still combined to rush for 837 yards against the Red Raiders.

The one bit of good news for Tech defensively is that the Cowboys, who like to spread out defenses with a high-flying aerial attack, are more similar to the finesse Sooners offense.

Offensively, huge early deficits have forced the Red Raiders to become completely one-dimensional.

Outside of the disastrous Iowa State game, junior QB Seth Doege has played well, completing 68.1% of his passes and throwing for 3,160 yards with 24 TD's and only 6 INT's this season. On the ground, Tech has been unable to replace junior RB Eric Stephens, who was averaging 5.2 yards a carry before injuring his knee against Texas A&M on Oct. 8.

Oklahoma State's defense has given up a lot of yards this season, but they've also been able to create turnovers and short fields for their explosive offense. The Red Raiders will need to play a mistake-free game of football if they have any chance of pulling an upset that would rock the college football landscape.

With both offenses likely to air it out, the odds-makers are projecting the game Saturday to be a high-scoring contest, with an over/under of 78 points.

The game will be televised regionally on ABC at 11 AM.
