New week, completely different story for TCU. After allowing 50 points to an explosive Baylor offense, TCU looked like TCU again in a 35-19 road win over Air Force. New QB Casey Pachall was excellent again, hitting 20 of 25 passes for 206 yards and 2 TD. He started the game 14-15 as TCU jumped out to a 35-9 lead in the fourth quarter before Air Force scored twice late.

Lead runner Ed Wesley missed the trip, but Matthew Tucker and Waymon James combined for 150 yards rushing and 3 TD in his absence. Luke Shivers and David Porter III also scored on Pachall passes.

TCU was also without key linebacker Tanner Brock, and they still allowed 416 yards of offense to a predictably resilient Falcons offense. Air Force used twelve different rushers for 249 yards, averaging 5.8 yards.

It was the two schools’ last meeting together in the Mountain West. TCU coach Garry Patterson said before the game that he won’t miss having to game plan for Air Force’s unique style. TCU now has what should be manageable matchups with Portland St. and Louisiana Munroe before their DFW showdown with SMU on October 1.

The TCU Horned Frogs will look to rebound from their first regular season loss in years on Saturday as they take on the Air Force Falcons. For seemingly the first time in quite awhile, the Horned Frogs are barely favorites to win a regular season contest.

Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. EDT, 2:30 p.m. CDT. Televised coverage of the game can be found on Versus.

As aforementioned, TCU, despite still being ranked in the top 25, are barely favored to win this game, and in some instances, aren't favored to win. The opening line had TCU as two point favorites, but both Bodog and Topbet knocked them down to one point favorites. 5Dimes and Betonline meanwhile have the Falcons favored by one point over the Horned Frogs.

The over/under for the game is either 49.5 (Betonline, Topbet) or 50 (5Dimes, Bodog).

We'll see if the Horned Frogs can rebound in their last Mountain West Conference clash with Air Force.

The Horned Frogs look to avoid consecutive losses to start the 2011 season as they visit Air Force on Saturday.

The 2011 football season hasn't exactly gone as planned so far for TCU, the defending Rose Bowl champs. The now 25th ranked Horned Frogs suffered a 50-48 loss at the hands of Baylor last Friday night, ending their 25 game regular season winning streak, which had been the longest in the FBS. On Saturday afternoon, the TCU Horned Frogs take on the Air Force Falcons as they look to avoid consecutive losses to start the 2011 season.

TCU's BCS teams the past two years had been built with their defense anchoring the team. Last season, TCU averaged giving up a meager 12 points per game, but managed to give up 50 against Baylor. Robert Griffin III torched TCU's defense through the air, though that's highly unlikely to happen again this week since Air Force's offense typically goes through the running game.

In last week's win over the South Dakota Coyotes, the Falcons compiled 391 rushing yards, led by senior running back Asher Clark, who ran for 97 yards on just 13 attempts.

Offensively for TCU, Casey Pachall led the offensive attack. The sophomore quarterback was 25-for-39 passing, good for 251 yards and four touchdowns. Pachall threw an interception to effectively end the game, attempting to force a pass into triple coverage that would have put the Horned Frogs in legitimate field goal range last week against Baylor.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CDT from Falcon Stadium.
