The Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies might be long gone from the 2011 College World Series, but hey, baseball is baseball, right? And the College World Series is still entertaining, right? Here's a look at the most up to date bracket, which can be found in a nice, tidy graphic form over at NCAA's website, or, you can just read the scenarios here below.

Virginia and California face off in an elimination game tonight, with the winner advancing to take on South Carolina. Whoever wins will have to beat the Gamecocks twice in order to advance to the championship series, since both Virginia and California already have a loss to their record thus far whereas South Carolina does not.

On the other side of the bracket, Vanderbilt, who eliminated North Carolina, will have to defeat Florida twice in order to advance to the championship series. The Gators, like the Gamecocks, just need a win to advance to the championship series.

Virginia and California are set to play on Thursday night at 6 p.m. CDT - the only game on Thursday. Televised coverage can be found on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com - if your local cable provider allows it.

The Texas A&M Aggies and Texas Longhorns suffered identical fates in the 2011 College World Series: both were eliminated in two games. The Aggies lost on Tuesday afternoon to the California Golden Bears 7-3, eliminating them from the College World Series.

The Aggies jumped out on top 1-0 in the fourth inning, but saw their lead quickly evaporate, as the Golden Bears struck for three runs in the fifth inning to take a 3-1 lead before adding three more in the sixth inning to go up 6-1. The Aggies would respond with two in the bottom half of the sixth, cutting the deficit to 6-3, but California would strike back in the seventh, adding another run to go up 7-3, a margin that California would win by.

Aggies starter Michael Wacha pitched six and two thirds innings, giving up seven runs (four earned) on nine hits while issuing two walks and striking out five. Wacha was partially undone by errors committed by center fielder Krey Bratson and third baseman Adam Smith.

Golden Bears starter Kyle Porter went six innings en route to being credited with the victory. Porter allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out four. Matt Flemer struck out five in three innings of relief to notch the rare three-inning save.

The state of Texas, despite having two of the eight teams in the College World Series, managed to go winless. The Longhorns lost on Saturday to the Florida Gators before being eliminated yesterday by North Carolina. The Aggies join the Longhorns as being the only two teams eliminated thus far.

The Golden Bears will face the loser of the game between Virginia and South Carolina, which will be held at 6 p.m. CDT.

With the Texas Longhorns having been eliminated from the 2011 College World Series on Monday, the state of Texas is now down to one collegiate team alive in Omaha - the Texas A&M Aggies. The Aggies may not be around for long, though, as they are playing in an elimination game against the California Golden Bears on Tuesday afternoon.

The Aggies lost 5-4 against South Carolina on Sunday, despite being staked to a 4-0 lead after the top of the first inning. Texas A&M gave that lead right back, allowing the Gamecocks to score four times in the bottom of the first before a walk off hit won the game for South Carolina in the bottom of the ninth.

Like the Longhorns, the Aggies struggled to muster up offense, scratching out only four hits against South Carolina. Unlike Texas, though, the Aggies did manage to draw five walks against the Gamecocks.

The Golden Bears lost to Virginia 4-1 in their first contest of the College World Series. California is currently the lowest seeded team in the tournament, as they were just a No. 3 seed in the Houston regional round, before defeating fellow regional No. 3 Dallas Baptist in the super regional.

First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. CDT. Televised coverage can be found on ESPN.

The trip to the 2011 College World Series was a quick one for the Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns were the first team eliminated in the College World Series after losing 3-0 to the North Carolina Tar Heels on Monday.

Once again, the Longhorns simply couldn't hit - or reach base. Texas' offense only put together five hits on the day, including none from the second, third and fourth hitters in the lineup. The Longhorns only drew one walk as well.

North Carolina starter Kent Emanuel dominated the Longhorns' offense, pitching a complete game shutout. As aforementioned, Emanuel gave up only four hits and a walk while striking out five. Emanuel did rack up a rather high pitch count, needing 126 for the complete game, but it didn't seem to matter as he showed no signs of tiring late in the game.

Ben Bunting was North Carolina's offensive star on Monday, going 4-5 at the plate, including the coup de grâce in the ninth inning when Bunting hit a two out, run scoring double to give the Tar Heels a 3-0 lead.

Cole Green was hung with the loss for the Longhorns, lasting only two innings. Green gave up two runs on five hits and a walk before being pulled in favor of Hoby Milner.

The Tar Heels will now face the loser of tonight's game between Florida and Vanderbilt while the Longhorns will now become spectators.

We're one full round into the 2011 College World Series, and of course, both teams from Texas - the Longhorns and Aggies - are facing elimination. Both Texas A&M and Texas find themselves in the losers bracket in the College World Series after A&M lost to South Carolina on Sunday and the Longhorns lost to the Gators on Saturday.

A complete, nice and tidy graphic of the bracket can be found on the NCAA's website here.

The winner of either Game 11 or Game 13 heads to the championship series.

Bracket two:

Game 7: California (0-1) vs. Texas A&M (0-1)
Game 8: South Carolina (1-0) vs. Virginia (1-0)

Game 10: Winner of California/Texas A&M vs. loser of South Carolina/Virginia
Game 12: Winner of South Carolina/Virginia vs. winner of Game 10
Game 14, if necessary - only if the Game 10 winner defeats the winner of Game 8 in Game 12.

The Texas Longhorns find themselves once again with their backs up against the wall on Monday, as they face the North Carolina Tar Heels in the first elimination game of the 2011 College World Series.

Both North Carolina and Texas played on the World Series' opening day on Saturday, and both promptly lost - and lost by four runs each. North Carolina was upset by Vanderbilt, losing 7-3. The Tar Heels scored only three runs despite cracking out 11 hits and drawing seven walks.

The Longhorns, meanwhile, lost 8-4 to Florida - and had less offensive success than North Carolina did, despite the fact that North Carolina did outscore Texas. The Longhorns scored their four runs on five hits, without drawing a single walk against the Gators.

The Longhorns will have to come up with more than five baserunners against the Tar Heels if they are to avoid elimination in the College World Series.

First pitch between the Tar Heels and Longhorns is scheduled for 1 p.m. CDT. Televised coverage can be found on ESPN.

The Texas A&M Aggies hope to have a better fate on Sunday night than the Texas Longhorns did on Saturday when the Aggies take the field in Omaha against the South Carolina Gamecocks in their first game of the 2011 College World Series.

The Aggies survived a drubbing in the second game of their Super Regional matchup against the Florida State Seminoles, as Florida State took Texas A&M to the house and then some, beating the Aggies 23-9. The Aggies, though, rebounded in the third game, beating Florida State with ease, 11-2 to advance to the College World Series.

South Carolina has yet to lose in the tournament thus far, needing just three games to advance out of the regional round before defeating the Connecticut Huskies 5-1 and 8-2 in the Super Regional, advancing to Omaha unblemished.

The folks over at I Am The 12th Man broke down the South Carolina pitching:

The Aggies will most likely be facing off against South Carolina's ace hurler Michael Roth when we take the field Sunday at 6 PM. The junior southpaw is 13-3 on the season with an anemic 1.02 ERA, and 95 strikeouts in 123 innings pitched. Roth was a reliever last year as a sophomore who came alive in the postseason, when pitching depth is most crucial, getting a win in relief in their Regional, beating Clemson in a complete game in his first career start in the College World Series, and then beating UCLA as a starter in a 2-1 victory in the national championship series. A full-time starter this season, Roth was named a first-team All-American by Baseball America for his season-long dominance, which included six wins in SEC play.

Roth is 2-0 in NCAA postseason play for Carolina, giving up 6 hits and 1 unearned run in 8.1 innings in their 5-1 win over Connecticut in the first game of the Columbia Super Regional. He went 7 innings and gave up an unearned run against Georgia Southern in Carolina's 2-1 win in their Regional.

Looking at the Carolina bullpen, they are stellar there, too, with second-team All-American RHP Matt Price (5-3, 18 saves, 67 strikeouts in 50 innings, .205 OBA ) as their closer, and RHP John Taylor (6-1, 1.27 ERA, .182 OBA) working as their set-up man. Taylor has a three-quarters delivery, so if we managed to get to their bullpen, we could see lefty, three-quarters righty, and then right-handed flamethrower, in that order.

First pitch between the Aggies and Gamecocks is scheduled for 6 p.m. CDT. Coverage can be found on ESPN2.

This is not the start that Taylor Jungmann and the Texas Longhorns were looking for in the 2011 College World Series. The Longhorns lost to the Florida Gators on Saturday 8-4, sending the Longhorns to the losers bracket (again).

Jungmann was hung with the loss, lasting only three and a third innings. Jungmann surrendered five runs (four earned) on three hits while walking four. He also struck out three. Jungmann threw 75 pitches in the contest - only 39 of them were strikes.

Offensively, the Longhorns simply couldn't get much going. Texas' offense only mustered five hits in the game - and they didn't draw a walk. Shortstop Brandon Loy was the only Longhorn with multiple hits as Loy went 2-4.

Hudson Randall picked up the win for the Gators, pitching six and two thirds innings, giving up four runs (one earned) on five hits. Randall struck out five.

Centerfielder Bryson Smith paced Florida's offensive attack, going 2-2 with two walks, two RBIs and two runs scored.

The Longhorns will take on the North Carolina Tar Heels on Monday at 1 p.m. CDT in an elimination game.
