The move that has been anticipated for a few days and that University of Texas alums have wanted for years has happened: Greg Davis has finally resigned. Mark Brown and UT have not yet sent out a press release today confirming his resignation, as well as the retirement of two veteran assistants, but Chuck Carlton has the news:

Greg Davis, the Longhorns' offensive coordinator since 1998, has resigned today, the school has confirmed in a press release. Longtime offensive line coach Mac McWhorter and defensive tackles coach/special teams coordinator Mike Tolleson will retire. Combined, the moves represent the biggest shakeup of the Mack Brown era.

An official announcement is expected soon.

No replacements are expected until after the bowl season.
