Michael Irvin calls for Doug Free's head

The story of the Cowboys simultaneously bewildering and exhilarating 23-20 win over the Browns on Sunday was the play, or the lack of it, from the Dallas offensive line.

A line that wasn't very good to begin with was without Tyron Smith (their only above average lineman) as well as their top two centers.

But no one played worse than RT Doug Free, whose been abysmal for almost the entire season. Michael Irvin, now over at the NFL Network, was none too impressed:

And while that may sound extreme, he's probably right.

Free didn't just miss blocks, he was literally a revolving door against Cleveland, letting guys run right past him without even laying a finger on them.

Jimmy would have cut him on the spot, but the difference is Jimmy would have had a guy capable of playing football behind Free, and it's not clear this version of the Cowboys do.

Jeremy Parnell, who got his first consistent bit of playing time on Sunday when Smith went down, hardly covered himself in glory at the LT position opposite Free.

Everyone wants to blame Jason Garrett for the Cowboys problems, but the glaring lack of talent on the offensive line is inexcusable and there's only one person to blame for that.
