NHL Draft Results: Dallas Stars Select Radek Faksa, Have Three Second Round Picks

With the No. 13 overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, the Dallas Stars threw drafniks a curveball. Instead of selecting a defenseman like many believed the Stars would, Dallas selected Radek Faksa, an 18 year old, 6'3", 202 lb center from the Czech Republic.

Faksa spent this past year playing in the Ontario Hockey League, where he led all rookies in goals, assists, points and plus-minus. Needless to say, that's quite the impressive resume Faksa made for himself during his lone season in the OHL.

Expect the Stars to be very busy on the second day of the NHL Draft as well. Dallas will make three draft picks in the second round, with the No. 13, 24 and 31 picks in the round. The Stars also have two picks in the fifth round, in addition to one pick in the third, fourth and seventh round. Dallas does not have a sixth round selection.
