The Dallas Stars added two players to their list of qualifying offers, Jamie Benn and Philip Larsen. They join Richard Bachman, Mark Fistric and Ryan Garbutt as NHL roster players who have received qualifying offers from the team. Dallas also has a group of restricted free agents in the AHL system, putting the Stars' total list of players qualifying offers at eight.
Benn's younger brother Jordie Benn is included in that group of AHL players.
The older Benn was the team's joint second leading scorer last season with 63 points, and his 26 goals were also tied for second best on the team. At just 22 years old, he's expected to improve steadily, even to the point he might tempt another team into looking his way. Larsen, a defenseman, is also 22-years-old and played 55 games for the Stars this season, splitting time between the NHL and AHL teams over the last two seasons.
