1st Intermission Report: Stars 0 - Blues 0

This meaningless game between the Stars and Blues got off to a very slow start.

The Blues played a pretty mean joke on the Stars in this period. They took three penalties in the first 10 minutes and the Stars' historically bad power play took the ice three times. They managed only one shot combined and could barely keep the puck in the zone. Dallas had more scoring chances on one penalty kill than they did with three power plays.

The most interesting part about this meaningless game is the call-ups of youngsters Brenden Dillon, Jordie Benn and Scott Glennie. Reilly Smith also returned to the starting lineup and played alongside Jamie Benn and Michael Ryder, a possible line combination for the start of next season.

Smith took a penalty in the period and had no shots on goal. Glennie had no shots on goal as well. Dillon and Jordie Benn were throwing the body around and did a pretty good job keeping the forwards in front of them.

St. Louis outshot Dallas 9-8 in the period.
