That's A Wrap: Stars 1 - Blackhawks 4

The fast start killed the Stars again as the Blackhawks scored just 33 seconds into the third period. Marion Hossa took advantage of a turnover and a lucky bounce to put the Stars into a 3-0 deficit.

Adam Burish gave the puck away to Patrick Kane, who dished it off to Hossa. Hossa put on a shot on net from the blue line that ricocheted off of Adam Pardy's stick and by Kari Lehtonen.

One more minute was all that the Hawks would need to put up their fourth goal of the game. They took advantage of another turnover and this time Patrick Sharp put in his second goal of the game.

Things looked bleak for Dallas from the get-go in this game after the Blackhawks scored in the first ten seconds and it never got better. Kari Lehtonen had his first really bad game in weeks and the defense did him no favors by continuously turning the puck over.

The Blackhawks were just hungrier in this game and were more determined to fight for possession of the puck. This was a thoroughly disappointing performance from Dallas in a game with huge playoff implications.

Jamie Benn would get a goal late in the third period to deny Corey Crawford his shutout. It was just too little too late.

Dallas has now dropped two in a row and holds a precarious two point lead over the Phoenix Coyotes to stay in the third spot in the West. The next game for the Stars just happens to be against the Coyotes for a game to decide who gets the division lead.
