2nd Intermission Update: Stars 1 - Jets 5

The beginning of the second period went as badly as the beginning of the first for the Stars. An Alex Burmistrov shot from the right wing hit Richard Bachman in the helmet and flew into the slot. Evander Kane jumped on the rebound and fired it into the net for a 2-0 Jets lead.

Trevor Daley was in the area but had his back turned to Bachman and never saw the puck drop behind him. He didn't have a chance to stop Kane once he reached the puck.

The Jets would score again eight minutes into the period as Eric Fehr scored his second goal of the season. Adam Pardy had a shot blocked in the offensive zone and turned it over. He was beaten to the puck by Fehr to the puck and couldn't catch up to him. Fehr beat Alex Goligoski down the ice and beat Bachman high and on the shortside.

Andrew Ladd would score the Jets' fourth goal just a minute later. Blake Wheeler made an amazing move to get near the net and his pass eventually found its way to Andrew Ladd. Bachman blocked the initial shot but was face-down on the ice as the rebound went back to Ladd. Ladd calmly put it over him and into the net.

Dustin Byfuglien would get the Jets' fifth goal on a power play with four minutes left in the period. Byfuglien's shot from the point hit Bachman in the head, bounced between his legs and into the net.

Dallas got a small (very small) measure of redemption when Loui Eriksson scored a goal just 15 seconds later. All it does though is keep the Jets from getting a shutout.

Philip Larsen also returned to the ice near the end of the period. It looks like his knee is ok.
