2nd Period Intermission Report: Stars 0 - Wild 0

The lack of scoring in this period reflects how soul-sucking this game is. There’s no energy in the building and the game is mirroring how lifeless they are.

The first five minutes of the period were actually energetic as the Stars put in a flurry of shots on Matt Hackett but nothing was put by him. Any shot that the Stars had were from distance and were not screened.

The Wild had a small period of pressure in the Stars end about midway through the period and had a golden opportunity to score on a rebound. Kari Lehtonen stopped a shot and put the rebound right in front of him. He barely stopped the rebound with a right pad save to keep the game scoreless.

The Wild would have a couple more chances, but again Lehtonen would be there to stone them.

The Wild had three power plays in the period but they were all fruitless. Brenden Morrow continued his parade to the penalty box with two more minors.

Overall, this game is really bogging down and the Stars need to wake up. The longer this stays scoreless, the more difficult it will be to make a comeback if it’s needed.

Dallas is out-shooting the Wild 19-17 after two periods.
