2nd Intermission Report: Stars 1 - Ducks 0

Dallas got a goal early in the period as the Ducks took two penalties to go down two men. The Stars would be able to capitalize on tic-tac-toe passing from Steve Ott to Jamie Benn to Brenden Morrow. Morrow had an open net and didn’t waste his chance to score the first goal of the game just 2:37 into the period. Morrow’s goal tied him with Jere Lehtinen for 8th all time on the Stars point list.

Dallas had a multitude of chances to get more goals but couldn’t get the puck past Hiller again. Michaey Ryder and Loui Eriksson had point-blank shots that they couldn’t capitalize on.

The referees got more involved in this period as the Stars had four power plays while the Ducks had two.

Ducks forward Corey Perry was dinged up around the 10 minute mark when Stephane Robidas checked him into the boards. Perry fell face first and seemed to hurt his shoulder. He went to the locker room in considerable pain.

Dallas was the aggressor again in this period. They’re looking good on offense and have been solid on defense. Kari Lehtonen has been stopping the few shots that have reached him. He only faced six shots this period.
