1st Intermission Report: Stars 0 - Ducks 0

The first period was pretty uneventful all around. There were only brief spurts of scoring chances in the opening and closing minutes of the period.

Adam Burish couldn’t score on an open net and Loui Eriksson was stopped by Hiller on a breakaway. Jamie Benn also had a great chance up close that was stopped by Hiller.

The Stars were outshot 8-6 in the period but had better chances to score. Kari Lehtonen only had to make one difficult save all period.

Steve Ott and Brenden Morrow returned from injuries in this game. Ott had 5:41 of ice time, had one shot block and one shot on goal. Surprisingly, he only took one face-off, which he lost. Morrow had 4:58 of ice time and recorded two hits.

Overall, the Stars looked like the better team. They had a little more energy and were more determined to get to the puck. Scoring chances were there but the Stars just couldn’t finish.
