The Dallas Stars didn't make any moves at the trade deadline on Monday, but they're still in a solid position to find one of two ways into the playoffs.

Thanks to four straight wins, they're within a reasonable shot of Phoenix in the Pacific Division, only five points behind the Coyotes and three behind the San Jose Sharks.

Winning the Pacific would lock Dallas in as an automatic Top 3 seed in the Western Conference, which would be an easier task that battling three (if not four) teams for their current No. 8 seed in the West.

The Penguins have won their last three games and seem to have the Atlantic Division locked up in the Eastern Conference. Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen has won all four games for Dallas on the win streak, and allowed only six goals during the span.
