There is a full slate of games in the American Hockey League (AHL) over the weekend, but the Texas Stars won't be participating in much of it. While some teams will be playing three games in three days, the Stars only have one game on the schedule, facing off against the Oklahoma City Barons on Sunday.
The Barons, AHL affiliate to the Edmonton Oilers, are one of the most star-studded rosters in the league this year with the NHL still on lockout. Quite a few of Edmonton's talented young offensive players are in their lineup, including Jordan Eberle, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Magnus Paajarvi. Despite their firepower, they're only sixth in the Western Conference, one spot above the Stars.
Following their game against the Barons, the Stars will have almost a full week off before their next game on Nov. 3.
Here's the schedule for the Texas Stars this weekend:
- Texas vs. Oklahoma City, 4 p.m. CT, Oct. 28
