Stars 3, Wild 3 After Two Periods: Dallas Still Has Work To Do

The Stars endured a miserable second period in which they blew their lead and allowed the go-ahead goal by scoring on a five-on-three power play late in the period. Jared Spurgeon and Colton Gillies hit for the Wild, whose three goal scorers on the day had combined for just six goals all season.

With Dallas on their heals, Gillies crashed into the crease in the last minutes, dazing Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen. Immediately after he headed to the box, Greg Zanon flipped the puck over the glass, earning Dallas an extended two-man advantage. Alex Goligoski scored from long distance with a Brenden Morrow screen to even the score. The goal was one of just three shots in the period for Dallas.

The Stars must win in regulation or overtime to earn the eighth playoff spot.
