Stars vs. Senators, NHL Scores: Eric Nystrom's Late Goal Solidifies 3-2 Dallas Victory

Eric Nystrom netted a late, tie breaking goal for the Dallas Stars Thursday night, leading them to a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators.

The Dallas Stars were looking to get a winning streak going against the Ottawa Senators Thursday night, which eventually was afforded them after a Eric Nystrom goal with 2:20 left in the game lifted the Stars to the 3-2 victory at the American Airlines Center.

Early goals from Erik Condra (3) and Steve Ott (5) got the game going early, followed by a scoreless (but penalty filled) second.

Both teams came into the final period looking to break the tie, which was eventually broken by Ottowa's Milan Michalek with a goal with 11:42 left in regulation. Radek Dvorak would score the tying goal for Dallas a few minutes later, his third of the season, then it was Nystrom time. Nystrom got the puck behind the Ottawa net, drifted towards the left circle and rocketed one past goalie Craig Anderson for his ninth on the year, one short of matching his career high.

With the win the Stars move to 15-9-1 on the year with 31 points, two points ahead of Phoenix for first in the Pacific division.
