Tom Gaglardi Approved As New Owner Of Dallas Stars, According To A Report

The NHL Board of Governors has reportedly approved the sale of the Dallas Stars to Tom Gaglardi

The NHL Board of Governors has reportedly agreed to approve Tom Gaglardi as the new owner of the Dallas Stars. According to the report, the Board of Governors conducted a fax vote on the matter since the next face-to-face meeting wasn't scheduled to happen until December.

A vote conducted via fax requires a unanimous vote while a three-fourths vote is required during an actual board meeting.

Gaglardi would be in position to take over control of the Stars operations after Friday's court hearing where the sale of the club and the prepackaged bankruptcy plan are expected to be approved. If nothing unexpected arises, Gaglardi is likely to be announced as the new owner on Friday. A formal press conference is expected to happen in Dallas early next week. The Stars are also expected to announce the hiring of Jim Lites as president of the club on Friday.
