Stars Vs. Coyotes Final Score: Dallas Defeats Phoenix 2-1 In Shootout

Mike Ribeiro's goal with the final shot of the first shootout round gave the Dallas Stars a 2-1 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday night. 

Radim Vrbata scored a power play goal with 5:55 remaining in the third quarter to give the Coyote's a 1-0 lead. Dallas tied the game on a goal by Loui Eriksson with just 28 seconds to go in regulation. After a scoreless overtime session, Eriksson gave the Stars a 1-0 lead with a goal in Dallas' first shootout attempt. Shane Doan evened things at 1-1 with a goal in Phoenix's final attempt before Ribeiro's game winner gave Dallas the victory. 

Kari Lehtonen stopped 40 shots for the Stars who were out shot 40-25 in regulation and overtime combined. The Coyotes were 1 of 8 on power plays and successfully killed all seven of the Stars power play opportunities.
