Andrew Raycroft Leads Stars To 4-0 Win Over Sabres

(Sports Network) – Andrew Raycroft, making his first start between the pipes for Dallas, turned aside 34 shots to backstop the Stars to a 4-0 victory over the Buffalo Sabres at American Airlines Center.

James Neal and Brenden Morrow both scored a power-play goal to help the Stars avoid a fourth straight loss at home.

Patrick Lalime gave up four goals on 41 shots for Buffalo, which has dropped three in a row.

Neal opened the scoring with a wrister from the right circle at 7:34 of the first period. Morrow deflected a Brad Richards shot past Lalime to give the Stars a 2-0 lead with 1:40 remaining in the middle stanza.

Steve Ott buried a rebound for a shorthanded goal a little over five minutes into the third, and Trevor Daley beat Lalime at 11:35 to account for the final score.

Game Notes

Buffalo had won five straight games against the Stars. Dallas picked up its first win over the Sabres since March 31, 2003…Richards collected two assists.
