The Dallas Mavericks are finalizing their roster for the 2012-13 season as they've agreed to a contract with guard Delonte West according to Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News. Terms of the contract are unknown at this time, although the Mavericks had $2.5 million worth of cap space to use on West.
Delonte was a reliable option for Dallas off the bench, averaging 9.6 points and 3.2 assists a contest in 44 games last year. With Darren Collison looking like the prohibitive favorite to be the starting point guard next year, West will continue to provide a veteran presence for Rick Carlisle off the bench.
West is the 14th guaranteed contract for the Mavericks this year. Second-round draft pick Bernard James looks like the favorite to land the 15th and final roster spot on the team next year.
