2012 NBA Las Vegas Summer League Scores: Mavericks Defeat Spurs In Overtime

The Dallas Mavericks improved to 4-1 in Las Vegas Summer League play as they defeated the San Antonio Spurs 82-76 in overtime on Saturday. The Mavericks were led in scoring by Jae Crowder who scored 21 points and Justin Dentmon had 16 points.

However, the rest of the Mavericks offense was non-existent as those were the only two in double figures, and as as team the Mavericks shot only 36.4 percent from the field. It was their agressive play that allowed the Mavericks to get to the free throw line 32 times and making 29 of them which helped them get the win.

The Mavericks also got out to a 9-point halftime lead, but in the third quarter the Spurs defense came out in full force and held the Mavericks to only eight points while the Spurs put up 23 points to go up by five heading into the final quarter. The Mavericks were able to for the game into overtime and in the extra frame outscored the Spurs 6-0 to get the win.
