The Dallas Mavericks summer league team will try to rebound from their loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday when they face the New Orleans Hornets on Friday night in Las Vegas.
They'll miss out on No. 1 overall pick Anthony Davis, who is playing in the Olympics, but they will play against the Hornets other lottery pick, Duke G Austin Rivers.
With Eric Gordon on the roster, New Orleans is planning on turning Rivers into a PG, and the transition process has not been smooth in their first two games. Rivers is averaging 10 points on 21% shooting with 3.5 assists on 3.0 turnovers.
New Orleans leading scorer is former Duke PF Lance Thomas, whose strength and rebounding ability will be a test for Dallas second round pick Bernard James.
Jae Crowder will likely match up with another 2012 second round pick, Kentucky SF Darius Miller, while Dominique Jones will get the call against Rivers.
