NBA Las Vegas Summer League 2012: Mavericks Face Atlanta Hawks

The Dallas Mavericks summer league team will try to stay undefeated when they face the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.

Atlanta, which hasn't had a lottery pick in many years, has one of the more low-profile rosters in the summer league. The only player likely to receive any action next season is the Hawks first-round pick, John Jenkins, a 6'4 shooting specialist from Vanderbilt.

Jenkins, who isn't very explosive off the bounce, is the type of player Dominique Jones should be able to defend.

Jones has been given control of Dallas' offense in the absence of first-round pick Jared Cunningham, and he should be able to continue his string of dominant play against the Hawks guards.

Upfront, the Hawks have their second-round pick from 2011, the 6'11 string-bean Keith Benson, the type of player Mavericks second-round pick Bernard James should be able to shut down defensively. They don't have a notable matchup for Jae Crowder at the 3/4 positions.

The game, which tips off at 7 PM Central, will not be televised until 3AM on NBA TV, but there is a live internet stream at NBA.com.
