The Dallas Mavericks haven't talked about Dahntay Jones much since they acquired him in a trade last week, which makes this tweet from Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe all the more interesting:
Count the #celtics as one of the teams interested in Dahntay Jones if he is bought out by the #mavericks, according to an NBA source

Taking on Jones' contract was likely the price the Mavericks paid to acquire Darren Collison from the Indiana Pacers, as Indiana could have just signed Ian Mahinmi outright otherwise.
As a basketball player, Jones doesn't have much left, as the 31-year old guard averaged 5 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist on 40% shooting last season. He could still offer Dallas three-point shooting and hard-nosed defense in a small role ala DeShawn Stevenson, but letting him go would be no great loss either.
