According to a report from ESPN Insider Ric Bucher, the Orlando Magic woke up this morning and realized that the deal they were getting from the Brooklyn Nets wasn't very good.
As a result, the team is now re-opening trade talks with the rest of the NBA as they shop their unhapppy franchise center.
The Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks are two of the only playoff teams with the salary cap space to sign Howard in 2013, so they will likely be two of the teams dialing Orlando the most in the next few days. However, Dallas doesn't really have many trade assets to offer the Magic, so their best chance of acquiring Howard is trying to be a vulture and pick him up in free agency.
That wouldn't be an option if the Nets acquired Howard, so, for now, Dallas fans should be hoping that the seemingly unworkable deal between the two teams stays dead.
