The Dallas Mavericks have been one of the most active teams on the first day of free agency, as the team has been connected to free agents throughout the NBA.
Dallas does have a lot of cap room, but it's hard to know, from the outside, which rumors are real and which are being floated by an agent in order to boost his client's leverage in free agency. After all, if Mark Cuban is on a player, they're price is likely to rise.
The latest player they've been linked too is Boston Celtics SG Ray Allen, who is actively exploring the market:

The Grizzlies have reportedly offered Allen a two-year mid-level extension, which is more than Dallas would likely be interested in giving him. Meanwhile, if Allen really wants to join a title contender, the Heat would probably be a better option.
