Bass is 26 years old and averaged a career-high 12.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. He played for the Mavericks for two seasons from 2007 to 2009 appearing in 160 games as a reserve forward. Bass reportedly met with Celtics officials on Sunday to start discussions about a new contract.
As many as six other teams are interested in Bass according to his agent which could drive the price to above the mid-level exception which is about $6 million per season.
