Deron Williams To Meet With Mavericks, Nets On Monday, According To A Report

Deron Williams is the most wanted free agent in the NBA this offseason, and Williams has already said the intends to only play for the Brooklyn Nets or Dallas Mavericks. Williams has been spending time with the Mavericks Jason Kidd of late, and those two players are reportedly considered to be a package deal.

Williams is set to meet with both teams on Monday, according to ESPN New York:

Deron Williams, the most coveted player in this summer's free-agent class, will meet with representatives from the Brooklyn Nets and Dallas Mavericks on Monday before deciding which team to sign with this July, according to a source privy to Williams' plan.

Mavericks free-agent point guard Jason Kidd will also join whichever team Williams chooses, sources said.

That same ESPN report is saying that there are sources saying that Williams has already accepted a deal to play with Kidd and the Nets next season, but then there are other sources saying that Williams has yet to make up his mind.

The Nets can offer the better financial package over any other team and can sign him to a five-year deal while the Mavericks can only offer Williams a four-year contract.
