To continue his career with the Mavericks, Jason Terry wants a long-term contract.

The Dallas Mavericks have a decision to make. Jason Terry is interested in returning to the team, but he does not want a one-year deal. He is hoping to get some long-term stability with his next deal, according to the Dallas Morning News.

"It's a tough situation," Terry said. "I'm finally in a position where I can kind of predict my own future, so to speak. I want to stay here in Dallas. That's always been my goal. But it needs to be long-term. If they're not ready to step up and do that, then I'll have to make my home elsewhere."

Because of his Bird Rights, Terry could make $12 million with the Mavericks on a one-year deal. A fan favorite, Terry averaged 15.1 points per game last season. He has been with Dallas for the last eight seasons.
