2012 NBA Standings Update

The Dallas Mavericks are down to their final two in the 2011-12 NBA regular season after defeating the Golden State Warriors on Friday night. The win kept the Mavericks in third place in the Southwest division, behind the division-winning San Antonio Spurs and the Memphis Grizzles.

Southwest Standings

W L PCT GB STRK
San Antonio 46 16 .741 0 Won 6
Memphis 38 25 .603 8.5 Won 3
Dallas 36 28 .562 11 Won 2
Houston 32 31 .507 14.5 Lost 6
New Orleans 20 43 .317 26.5 Won 1

Dallas remains in sixth place in the Western Conference as well, putting them in line for a date with either the Los Angeles Lakers on the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the 2012 NBA Playoffs. While the Mavericks cannot move up to the fifth seed, they can move down to the seventh seed, which would pit the Mavericks against either the Oklahoma City Thunder or San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs.
