Dallas remains in sixth place in the Western Conference as well, putting them in line for a date with either the Los Angeles Lakers on the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the 2012 NBA Playoffs. While the Mavericks cannot move up to the fifth seed, they can move down to the seventh seed, which would pit the Mavericks against either the Oklahoma City Thunder or San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs.
