Fighting for playoff positioning the Dallas Mavericks used a second half charge to defeat the Golden State Warriors 104-94. At the half the Mavericks only led by one point, but they extended that lead in the third and fourth quarters by making their free throw shooting and bench play.
On the night Dallas able to get the victory by making 25-of-26 from the line compared to the Warriors who went 11-for-21, and having their bench out score the Warriors bench 54-22.
Vince Carter and Brandan Wright both came off the bench to lead the Mavericks in scoring with 19 and 17 points each. The Mavericks also were able to get double digits from Dirk Nowitzki, Delonte West and Shawn Marion.
The win for the Mavericks strengthened their hold on the No. 6 spot in the West by putting them one game ahead of the Nuggets and 2.5 ahead of the Suns who are in the No. 8 spot.
