The Dallas Mavericks overcame a big first quarter deficit to defeat the Houston Rockets 90-81 behind 21 points from Dirk Nowitzki. The Mavericks came back with a big second quarter and then held the Rockets to just 12 points in the third to grab control of the game.
Dirk Nowitzki finished with 21 points despite despite shooting just 5-17 from the field. Nowitzki was 11-12 from the free throw line and also finished with six rebounds and three assists.
Rodrigue Beaubois scored 14 points, Brandan Wright added 13 and Jason Terry chipped in 12 all off the bench. Lamar Odom rebounded from a string of ineffective games to finish with nine points and three assists in 23 minutes of action.
Luis Scola scored 22 points and grabbed eight boards to lead the Rockets. Goran Dragic added 17 points and seven assists while Chandler Parsons finished with 15.
With the win, Dallas improves to 29-22 on the season while the Rockets fall to 27-24 in the tight Western Conference Standings.
