Jason Terry: 'I'm Playing For 29 Teams'

With the Dallas Mavericks shedding salaries over the last four months in an effort to clear enough salary cap space to go after Deron Williams and Dwight Howard in the summer of 2012, one big concern was how the remaining Mavericks would react to management's lack of faith.

While coach Rick Carlisle as well as the team's veteran locker room have managed to paper over the differences this season, cracks are beginning to show:

"For me, personally, I'm playing for 29 teams," Terry said after the Mavs snapped a three-game losing streak with a win Tuesday night over the Washington Wizards. "I want to stay here. I want to be here, but every night I'm on the floor I'm on a job interview."

Terry, 34, is having his worst season in his eight years in Dallas, averaging only 14.8 points and 3.6 assists on 43% shooting.

A free agent after this season, he's had a great run for the Mavericks, but it sounds like both he and the team are preparing to part ways this summer.
