While discussing politics is a strictly forbidden subject here at SB Nation, we had to pass on this interesting tidbit from ESPN Dallas: Vince Carter is set to host a $30,000 a plate campaign fundraiser for President Obama at his off-season home in Orlando during All-Star Weekend.
↵Carter apparently hit it off with the President during the NBA lockout, and he was one of the players organizing the Obama Classic, an exhibition game/campaign fundraiser that was cancelled after the lockout was unexpectedly resolved last year.
↵The Mavericks guard said the guest list is around 70 people right now, which would be enough money for the Obama campaign to add the salary of a 35-year NBA old shooting guard to their staff.
