The Dallas Mavericks will play two home games this weekend, as the Denver Nuggets and San Antonio Spurs pay visits to the American Airlines Center. The brief homestand could not come at a better time. The Mavs have lost their last four games and seven of their last eight, and are now just 4-13 away from home this season.
Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. CT Friday. Denver (16-14) has one of the league's most prolific offenses, scoring 102.7 points per game and recording 45.9 rebounds per contest, second in the NBA. Six different Nuggets average more than 10 points per game, led by Danilo Gallinari's 15.4 points per game. Kenneth Faried is averaging a double-double, with 12.2 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
San Antonio (22-8) comes to Dallas Sunday for a 6:30 p.m. CT tip. The Spurs are touring Texas this weekend, having played at Houston Friday night. San Antonio has the NBA's second highest-scoring offense and leads the league in assists per game. The Spurs have won three straight entering the weekend.
Elsewhere, Houston follows its Friday night game against San Antonio with the weekend's other great game, a Saturday matchup against the 22-6 Oklahoma City Thunder.
