Dallas Mavericks forward Shawn Marion has been ruled out for at least two games with a sprained MCL, and he will be re-evaluated next week, according to Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears.
Marion was injured midway through the third quarter of the Mavericks' 114-91 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday. Although he missed a quarter and a half of action, Marion still led the team in rebounds with seven, while also scoring eight points, dishing out three assists and blocking a pair of shots.
Marion, in his 13th year out of UNLV, has missed only 12 games in three seasons with Dallas after missing a total of 32 in the previous two seasons while with the Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors. In four games this season Marion has averaged 8.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Over the course of his NBA career, Marion has very respectable per-game averages of 16.4 points and 9.2 rebounds.
