All three of Texas's NBA franchises are in action early next week. The Oklahoma City Thunder are also set to play twice.
The Mavericks take on the Portland Trailblazers in Dallas Monday night. Both teams are 2-1 after one week of play. Dallas opened the season with a surprising win over the Lakers, then lost to Utah before defeating Charlotte Saturday. Portland also has a win over Los Angeles, and also managed a win over Houston Saturday.
Also on Monday, the Spurs will play to keep their perfect record intact when they host the Indiana Pacers. The Spurs recorded wins over New Orleans, Oklahoma City and Utah in the season's first week. Indiana is 2-1, with wins against Toronto and Sacramento, and a disappointing loss to Charlotte.
The Oklahoma City Thunder host Toronto on Tuesday, one of only three NBA games on the slate. The Thunder split their first two games of the season, losing their opener to San Antonio before defeating Portland Friday. The Raptors are 1-2 after the season's first week.
The Houston Rockets return to action Wednesday at home against the Denver Nuggets. Houston had an eventful first week, sealing the acquisition of James Harden and promptly winning its first two games against Detroit and Atlanta. The Rockets lost their home opener against Portland Saturday, and will be looking to rebound against the winless Nuggets.
The Spurs and Mavericks will also play Wednesday night, with San Antonio traveling to Los Angeles to play the Clippers and Dallas hosting Toronto. Oklahoma City visits Chicago on Thursday night, in a game getting national coverage from TNT.
