Dallas Mavericks' forward Shawn Marion returned to the starting lineup on Friday night against the Inidiana Pacers after missing five games with a knee injury.
Marion didn't make a big impact on the game, scoring two points and grabbing seven rebounds in 25 minutes of play as he begins playing his way back into shape. Marion appeared winded at times and only took five shots while working back into the mix with the starting lineup.
Marion played despite not being 100 percent healthy and still dealing with some discomfort in his knee, as Eddie Sefko reports.
"I had a slight pain here and there, but it was cool," Marion said of his left knee, which kept him out of the previous five games. "In the first half, we played good ball. We stopped everything in the second half and I don't know why we're doing that."
The Mavericks caught a Pacers team that was motivated to improve after losing five of six games and took out their frustrations on the Mavericks, handing Dallas a 103-83 loss.
Dallas has little time to worry about the loss as they move on to Cleveland to play the Cavaliers on Saturday night.
