The Dallas Mavericks lost their third game of the preseason, falling to the Atlanta Hawks 110-94 at Phillips Arena in Atlanta on Saturday night.
The Mavericks scored just 43 points in the first half and were unable to overcome their 15-point deficit at halftime against the Hawks due to a slow offensive night all around for the visiting team.
Forward Jae Crowder led the Mavericks with 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting, while Vince Carter added 13 points off the bench in 24 minutes. Starters Shawn Marion and Elton Brand combined for just 10 points in the game, with Marion recording 10 rebounds before fouling out late in the game.
The Mavericks, without Dirk Nowitzki with a knee injury, have managed more than 100 points just once so far in the preseason. Dallas will open the regular season against the Lakers in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 9:30 p.m. with coverage on TNT.
