Mavericks vs. Suns game recap: Phoenix holds on for a 100-94 win over Dallas

A 32-point third quarter erased the Suns' five-point halftime deficit as they held on to defeat the Mavericks, 100-94, on Wednesday.

Jared Dudley had a team-high 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, including 2-of-3 from three-point range to lead the Suns.

The Mavericks were within two, 96-94, with less than a minute remaining in the game, but that's as close as they would get as Phoenix clinched it with four consecutive points to end the game.

Mavericks rookie Jae Crowder had the best game of his professional career as he finished with with 10 points, six rebounds, five steals and three blocks on 4-of-7 shooting from the field, including 1-of-3 from three-point territory in 25 minutes.

Chris Kaman and Vince Carter led the Mavericks in scoring with 16 and 15 points, respectively. OJ Mayo also added 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field. Mavericks starting point guard Darren Collison failed to score a point, going 0-for-2 from the field, but he did have a team-high six assists.

The Mavericks are now 2-2 in the preseason and will play Atlanta on Saturday.
