Delonte West reinstated by Mavericks after Tuesday morning suspension

The Dallas Mavericks have reinstated Delonte West after suspending the guard about 12 hours ago on Tuesday morning, according to a report by Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com.

After a meeting with head coach Rick Carlisle and president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson this afternoon, West's suspension was lifted. Nelson, in the report, texted the message "Back on track" following the meeting.

West was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team following "an outburst in the locker room," according to MacMahon's report, after the Mavericks 123-104 preseason victory over the Houston Rockets on Monday night. West logged two points, a rebound and two assists in 16 minutes of play Monday against the Rockets.

Providing defensive toughness and versatility on the offensive end off the bench in Dallas last season, West averaged 9.6 points per game, 3.2 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game in about 24 minutes a night. Playing in 44 regular season contests, the eight-year veteran shot 46.1 percent from the floor.
