Dallas Mavericks guard Jason Kidd played just over two minutes in their win over the Utah Jazz. Kidd suffered a right calf strain and was taken to the locker room and did not return. Head coach Rick Carlisle spoke to the media on Saturday to provide an update on Kidd's injury and said that they will not know until Sunday if Kidd will be able to play against the San Antonio Spurs.
Kidd has already missed four games this year with a lower back injury, and in that time the Mavericks have gone 4-0. However, Kidd is just one of many Mavericks who have missed time this year. Currently, starting guard Delonte West is out with a hamstring injury and starting forward Dirk Nowitzki has missed the past four games trying to regain his stamina and recover from a knee injury.
