Dirk Nowitzki Injury: Mark Cuban Says Star 'Will Be Fine'

In a Thursday interview with Fox Sports Radio, Mark Cuban discussed Dirk Nowitzki's four-game absence as well as his pursuit of a MLB franchise:

"He’ll be fine. In this season it’s just crazy with the number of games in the compressed schedule, so Jason Kidd already had a few days off. Vince Carter is getting some time off. Now it’s Dirk’s turn. We are fine. We just want to make sure he has got his legs going into the second half of the season."

While Dallas struggled to a 2-7 record without their MVP candidate last season, the addition of Lamar Odom has given them more depth on their front-line, as they are 2-1 without Dirk in the line-up.

If the initial timetable given for his absence is accurate, the 7'0 German will be back in the line-up when the Mavericks host the San Antonio Spurs, another old team dealing with injury concerns in the lockout, on Sunday.
