The Dallas Mavericks are still without starting forward Dirk Nowitzki who is going to miss the next three games while he regains his stamina, so the Mavericks will need to have someone step up to recoup the 17.5 points per game that Nowitzki is averaging this year. Lamar Odom replaced Nowitzki in the starting lineup and scored 16 points against the New Orleans Hornets, and he will be getting the start again against the Phoenix Suns on Monday night.
The Mavericks are looking for their seventh straight win at home and their ninth straight win over the Phoenix Suns. The Suns have won their past two games against the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks which ended a five-game losing streak for the Suns. This game also is the last game of a five-game road trip for the Suns.
