After a tough 73-70 last-second loss to the LA Lakers on Monday, the Dallas Mavericks play the other half of the Staples Center doubleheader when they face the LA Clippers on Wednesday.
With the acquisition of Chris Paul in the off-season, the Clippers are actually the more feared of the two LA teams, which might be the first time you could ever say that.
However, they are coming off a brutal road loss to Utah on Tuesday night, a game where nothing went right for the Clippers and they lost by 37 points, as Paul has missed the last two games with a hamstring strain.
He is currently listed as day-to-day, and as of yet, there's been no indication as to whether he will play against the Mavericks on Wednesday.
In his absence, the Clippers leading scorer was former Dallas small forward Caron Butler, who has averaged 16.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists on 44.5% shooting this season.
For the Mavericks, Paul's injury represents a golden chance to steal a road game against a team they will be competing with for playoff positioning over the next four months.
The 9:30 PM game will be broadcast regionally on Fox Sports Southwest.
