Dallas Mavericks Lamar Odom Named To Preliminary Team USA Roster For 2012 Olympics

Dallas Mavericks forward Lamar Odom was named on the preliminary Team USA roster for the 2012 olympics.

According to Chris Sheridan, Dallas Mavericks forward Lamar Odom was named to the preliminary Team USA roster for the upcoming 2012 Olympics, which are to be held in London. Odom joins a veritable who's who of NBA superstars which includes Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin and Kobe Bryant.

Odom currently averages 6.9 points per game and adds 4.8 rebounds per game and is currently starting forward Shawn Marion's backup. He was signed by the Mavericks in early December after he was acquired via trade from the LA Lakers. The Mavericks are currently ranked in second place in the Western Conference's Southwest division and they're in ninth place in the conference with a 4-5 record.

The 2012 Olympics opening ceremonies start on Friday, July 27.
